Volt Workforce Solutions is presently seeking a Claim Adjudicator for our client in Meridian, ID. To apply, please respond to this job posting. Qualified candidates meeting client criteria will be contacted by a Volt recruiter.
Join a large, reputable insurance benefits company and put your data entry and back office experience to work! Our Claim Adjudicator Operator validate claim data, review hardcopy claims for completeness, and determine if the claim is adjudicatable or needs to be returned for additional information. Additionally, the Claim Adjudicator will perform accurate direct data entry of claim information into the database system(s). This is scheduled to be a temporary position, with schedule estimated to go through July 2014. Work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8a-5pm.
Responsibilities will include:
Accurately validate data captured by Optical Character Recognition. Approve and code claims for direct entry using PC.
Assure all of the required information for processing appears on the claim.
Recognize and clear coding and entry edits generated by the system(s).
Recognize particular codes and apply the appropriate workflow.
Assure timely and accurate coding review in the processing of claims to meet corporate and client standards and department procedures.
Route claims requiring further review or additional information to the appropriate area.
Recognize and investigate or report any abnormal or aberrant claim practices.
Maintain accurate records when reporting personal performance.
Maintain procedure manuals, memos, bulletins, and notes necessary to accurately process claims.
Job Requirements
HS Diploma or GED required
Position will require pre-employment screening

years general office experience within medical/healthcare environment
Operate general business office equipment (such as copier, fax, printer, multi-line telephone, etc.)
MS Office Suite - intermediate skill sets
Typing at 45
words per minute, strong 10 key skills needed (90+/kpm)
Excellent Verbal and written
communication
Understand and follow basic workflows and instructions
Perform data verification and entry activities
Navigate through
computer
systems
Work a flexible work schedule determined by claim receipts
Work overtime as needed
Preferred
Qualifications:
Understanding of medical terminology
Understanding of CPT, ICD, and HCPCS coding
Familiarity with CMS 1500 and/or UB claims

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
